Voteview has this, although LBJ to the right of Clinton doesn't sound right.
Obama being the most conservative Democrat, and Eisenhower the most liberal Republican makes sense, though.

From left to right

LBJ
Obama
JFK
Truman
Carter
Clinton
Eisenhower
Ford
Nixon
Bush Sr
Bush
Reagan

LBJ is an obvious first for civil rights push and the Great Society. Obama is an easy second based on the social and foreign policy issues he has pushed in his time as president, as well as health care reform. JFK and Truman seem pretty interchangeable, though we don't know if JFK pushes through the same things as LBJ if he lived. Carter was liberal on foreign policy, but was quite conservative socially and was pretty typical economically when it came to New Deal Democrats. His criticism of George McGovern as being too liberal stands out to me. The most conservative Democrat was probably Clinton.

For the most liberal Republican, it's pretty close between Ford and Eisenhower, but Ike was more of an economic liberal than Ford as a social liberal. Bush Sr in the 70's was probably more moderate than Nixon himself, but had moved to the right by the time he was president. Nixon ran as a conservative but continuously catered to Democratic demands. It was tough between Reagan and Bush Jr for the most conservative, but Bush Jr never really embraced conservatism the way Reagan did. Bush Jr was less conservative than his Congress while Reagan was more conservative, which wins Reagan the title of most conservative.

For the left, since I care about that region of the spectrum less, will be economics based. As well, foreign policy will be largely counted out in favor of domestic policy.

Johnson
Truman
Kennedy
Carter
Clinton
Nixon*
Ford
Eisenhower
Bush I
Bush II
Reagan

Not a perfect list, & we can discuss semantics & specifics in a post I don't type on an iPod.

*Despite the obvious motives behind said leftism, he bolstered the Great Society & expanded government beyond even Ike's aspirations.

I thought you claimed elsewhere that Obama was the most left-leaning President since LBJ-at least you seem to tolerate Obama while disliking Clinton.

Why is Bush Jr. ranked so far to the right? This is the guy who presided over rising spending, the biggest expansion in regulation since Nixon, Medicare Part D, and tarrifs on steel & softwood lumber.

Right Wing=/=Neoliberalism

"In left-right politics, right-wing describes an outlook or specific position that accepts or supports social hierarchy or social inequality. Social hierarchy and social inequality is viewed by those affiliated with the Right as either inevitable, natural, normal, or desirable, whether it arises through traditional social differences or from competition in market economies. It typically accepts or justifies this position on the basis of natural law or tradition.

The term "right wing" has been used to refer to different political positions through history. The political terms Right and Left were coined during the French Revolution (1789–99), and referred to where politicians sat in the French parliament; those who sat to the right of the chair of the parliamentary president were broadly supportive of the institutions of the monarchist Ancien Régime.  The original Right in France was formed as a reaction against the Left, and comprised those politicians supporting hierarchy, tradition, and clericalism. The use of the expression la droite (the right) became prominent in France after the restoration of the monarchy in 1815, when le droit was applied to describe the Ultra-royalists. In English-speaking countries it was not until the 20th century that people applied the terms "right" and "left" to their own politics.

From the 1830s to the 1880s, there was a shift in the Western world of social class structure and the economy, moving away from nobility and aristocracy, and moving towards the bourgeoisie and capitalism. This general economic shift towards capitalism affected centre right movements such as the British Conservative Party that responded by becoming supportive of capitalism."
