Also, Nixon is leading Thatcher? Regardless of your personal politics, Thatcher was never involved in any scandals like Watergate. Even the Tory sleaze of the Major years wasn't as bad.

C'mon man. You're the guy that criticizes Thatcher for the Falklands War, and yet you're going to tolerate Nixon, whose own war was extended an extra four years at the cost of many more lives than the Falklands was. We all know you love Nixon due to his incredible career as a proud progressive hero, but there are things more than PM scores to consider in a judgement. And hey, I know how difficult it would be for a leftist to prefer Thatcher over anyone. But the symptoms we're looking at here seem to be an automatic preference for Mr. Nixon (again, Watergate was the least of his crimes) over any well known right-winger.

You are forgetting the small war that Thatcher fought against the miners & rest of Northern England.

Nixon. I'd rate Nixon over a whole swathe of politicians actually.

Nixon; he may have been a crook with Watergate, but at least he was pragmatic and moderate enough to work with both sides.

Haha, nice.  Actually Nixon would not only be better than Thatcher, but also Reagan and either Bush.

Nixon's crimes were relatively minor compared to the crimes of the Thatcher regime.

Ideology easily Nixon, though Thatcher never had the corruption and paranoia of Nixon.

I'd probably vote for Nixon both with hindsight and without. At least we were able to get rid of him.
