Moderator for General Politics
«
on:
February 22, 2005, 07:37:13 pm »
Hello all,
I'm looking for a moderator for the general politics section. I'm interested in someone who is fair, respected amongst his/her peers, and interested in helping to maintain the threads, keep threads on-topic, delete posts/threads that are not adding value, etc. (perhaps run like an office - nominations, campaign, and a vote
Free atlas membership (Contributor) will be granted.
Thanks,
Dave

By general politics, do you mean the fantasy elections or the good forums?

If you mean general politics, I'd be willing to do it.

The four boards under the heading "General Politics" (U.S. General Discussion, International General Discussion, Individual Politics, and Political Debate).

Dave,
I'd love to do this. I have a lot of free time, am quite active, and I hope that I may have some level of competence. I have past moderation experience on several corporate message boards (if you'd like references, feel free to PM me) and think I could do a decent job.
I'd be honored if you would consider me. :)

I'd be willing to do it. I have no life, which makes me qualified, and my general tone on the forum is good, and the certain things I have done this job doesn't really entail, so hopefully that won't be an issue.

Mr. Leip,
I vouch for Alcon. He is a fine person who is always fair. I feel he will be the best choice to moderate general politics.

Alcon would be fine. Make him take this oath.
I pledge to uphold the honour and dignity of the General Politics Forum. I will show no mercy in defending the board from BRTD, JFraud, Flyers, etc. I do so pledge.

I was going to nominate myself, but then I saw that Alcon was there, so I'll just go with him.

John Ford would be a good moderator.
Problem with Alcon is I get the feeling he'd crack down on BRTD's topics too hard, and those are pretty hilarious.

I'll volunteer. I'm sure everyone will be repulsed by my doing so, but I'll do it if you want me to.

Yes, he would be, unless you don't like the Free Republic forums.

If it would just be for "Individual Politics", I would have applied, but I don't visit the other forums listed that often.

I could see doing one forum, but not four of the volume of the General Politics forums. If you ever look for a moderator for the Other Politics forums, I’d like to be considered.

I think that MAS117, Akno, and Alcon could all do good jobs, from what I've seen here. Especially having seen what Akno has done in other places, I think he would be very capable of moderating.

We need someone who won't crack down too hard. I know I would be as leniant as possible. I feel most of the people listed would be fine, with Alcon as my first other preference because of activity. It doesn't have to be a one-person job, does it?
