Why do you want to use yards and making reports 4 times a year?

A yard equals to 0.9144 meters, so you are proposing something like this:

First, it's a much more restricted area and, secondly, the measures of length based on yards and inches are a terrible mess.

On the other hand the school year lasts approximately 9 months, if I'm not wrong, so 4 annual reports would be one for every two school months, approximately. Isn't it a bit excessive?

Pretty much everyone in the region uses yards and inches, so it makes sense to use them.

the reason for yards is what Sjoyce said, almost all of us use that.

The reason for 4 is if that things can be caught by the goverment quicker.

I think we should encourage the use of the metric system everywhere. However, if you want yards and inches because a majority still uses that measurement system, it might be included in the text something like this:

164 is unwieldy to use though, and since these places will probably be measuring in yards, it'd be easier to make it 150 yards - 160 if you want.

160 yards equal to 146.304 meters , which is unwieldy too. If the law says that distance is 150 meters, all places will measure the distance in the metric system. In the same way that it's better to measure big distances in Km. instead of using miles, to fit with international standards and to avoid confusion.

If you want, we can do this, We will use yards in this bill, and after this bill, I will propose a bill to change the system of measure in IDS to metric, and we can change it then.  We should use what the official unit of measure in the IDS is.

So are we going to vote on Jerry's amendments? And are those the only points of debate? Hopefully we can get this passed pretty quickly.

This is America Atlasia! We don't fit with international standards and we're proud of it! Maybe we could compromise and say that schools can either use 160 yards or 150 meters?

150 meters or 164 yards.

I don't think there's an official system in the South, oth. However, the International System of Units is da best Grin

How about this for a final compromise amendment? It almost works out perfectly in conversion:

Excellent. Any other objections? If not I'll have us begin voting tomorrow.
