Here's what Sanchez had to say about which he'd give up first, democracy or capitalism:
You really can't have one without the other, but I voted capitalism.

Not that bad, but I've never seen such a spirited defense of the Habsburg Empire:

Narrow FF although his racial views were hypocritical and his policy of self-determination was disastrous by leading to the destruction of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Not that Wilson wasn't awul, but how is this a bad thing?

It supported the already existing tendency in Europe to divide along ethno-national lines, destroyed a great power which made its individual component states easier to be bullied by the Germans and Russians, and prevented a chance for Austria-Hungary to become a genuinely multinational democratic federation.

I hope the torch burns out once and for all. I rather have one of the Bushes, in fact, before we ever have one of these cretins.

Kudos to that!

Don't quite know where you get off calling them cretins...

Just angry conservatives pissy about how the Kennedys were essentially incorruptible and steadfast to progressive principles.

That one was hillarious. I figured it would be unfair for me to post it here, since it was in response to me, but I am glad it found it's way here.

It's not a marriage..who is the husband? Who is the wife?

The voters should be allowed to speak at the ballot box, not what some PPP poll said.

Wants are not constitutional rights.

You could put most of this guy's stuff here, this particular snippet isn't even grammatically coherent:

It's amazing, to be a liberal these days, you almost have to believe George Washington and company intended two men to get hitched and pro partial birth abortion.

I feel sorry for him if he's being honest instead of simply trolling, but either way, this post belongs here.

Because I happen to believe marriage is a unique institution between one husband and one wife. And I don't believe that homosexuality should be celebrated. It is something I am ashamed of, not proud of. I want to be normal.

So is this fiend a troll then?

This person should run for President. I'm tired of  bicyclists thinking they are above the law. We have enough traffic problems without making the lanes smaller in the road.

However annoying some bicyclists are, the real problem are the bikers who ride those Hondas that are basically souped up dirt bikes. I'm terrified of one of them cutting in front of me (as they often do on I-95) and getting hit by the car in front or by me.

Do we overly lionize our military? Sometimes. But this post is just as absurd.

Yes. I personally think that most people who join the military are misinformed and/or homicidal, and I don't see why we need a military in the first place, but I'm a leftist radical so most people would term me an evil communist. People who join the military really deserve no higher compensation or benefits than the average American who would never enlist.

Robert Kennedy obviously. Humphrey was one of the worst Democratic Presidential candidates in the last century.

Isn't it kind of a given that everything he posts belongs in this thread and thus posting it is unnecessary? Then again that stands out even by his standards...

I wonder if Ellmers/Berry/Forest are regretting not getting into this race. I honestly think even Renee would be leading the primary by double-digits and approaching that figure in the general.

ag really gets unhinged when talking about the Latin American left:

Why would the fascists need to start an uprising in Venezuela? They have been in power for the last 15 years. Against whom would they be rebelling?

Venezuela has clearly been a democracy for the past 15 years except for a couple days of fascist dictatorship in 2002. Chavez's attempts to amend the constitution to extend his own power were rejected and he fully accepted the results.

Venezuela does still retain certain democratic institutions - despite the severe damage done to them by the fascist regime over the last 15 years. But I do not think this is going to stay there for long. Chavez, it should be granted to him, was charismatic and loved winning in an actually contested race. True, he stacked the system heavily in his favor - but let the (heavily disadvantaged) opposition compete (within limits): he thought it was fun. Maduro will not be winning elections in the future, and he knows it. So, frankly, I do not think we will have many more elections in Venezuela under this regime.

In any case, ideologically they are run-of-the-mill fascists, Mussolini copycats. Which, of course, makes them the darlings of the ultra-right-wingers, like you.

Classic Lief - can't offer a single post in actually countering what was said in the thread and instead just posts it to point fingers in here. This is exactly why all these mines and institutes are stupid, it detracts from actual discussion.

It's always entertaining to see people act condescendingly towards those who are much smarter than themselves though.

Ag posted a bunch of right-wing nonsense. Reposting it is a refutation of his post; his ridiculous hyperbole does the job of countering his point.

I do find your creepy continued obsession with me flattering though, so you've got that going for you at least.
