Just reading an article in the Star Tribune about a boost in state aid being used to pave streets in Minneapolis.  These are two of the comments posted by other readers:

One of the few things city government is supposed to do, keep the infrastructure current, and our liberal elite can't even do that. If they would stop giving away money to every freeloader in the city who asks, and paying $500,000 for a drinking fountain, maybe they could actually perform a basic function of government. I won't hold my breath.

In response:

I used to read the comments on articles but they are so awful and ignorant from both sides. It's all a bunch of name calling, it's so sad and pathetic it makes me hate politics. That comment is not awesome at all.

I can't read comments made on news stories anymore.  I gave up some years ago when I still had a yahoo account and read some news there.  I realized after a while that they don't call it "yahoo" for nothing.
