Pursuant to section 2, part 3 of Article I, the Senate is now the grand jury in this impeachment trial of Chief Justice Ebowed and must consider the articles of impeachment levied against the Chief Justice.

Given we have never done this before, I ask all of you to bear with me. I am simply following the procedure laid out in our Constitution.

In laymen's terms, I think you all discuss this as a body now rather than simply the judiciary committee.

Nix has been doing that a lot later, he did it on the Anti-Spam bill thing. I think it is a sublimal anger over having missed that vote a few days ago. Tongue

The Judiciary committee voted AGAINST impeachment by a vote of 0-3.

Duly noted, Maxy. But we still have to go through these steps. Perhaps some of your colleagues will feel differently. I don't know. I am just following the marching orders set forth by the framers.

It doesn't say when we vote. I can bring this to a final vote as soon as possible. I want to give others a chance to chime in though since the purpose of this, I guess, is to allow everyone to argue their views rather than just the committee, since the committees are absolutely useless. Yes, you wasted your time. Tongue

The case against the Chief Justice is not one I think we should pursue.  It's clear that he has not acted in a manner unbecoming of his office, and there is no reason to impeach him now.  Let's vote, and vote this down.

Well, there doesn't seem to be a time limit, so I'm going to call this to a vote.

Senators, please vote aye, nay or abstain on the impeachment of Chief Justice Ebowed.

The impeachment vote fails 7-0. I guess from here, Ebowed presides over the other justices impeachment trials according to our glorious constitution.
