For the time being it looks like Chained CPI is dead, so my opinion of him is going back up a bit, but not because of anything he actually did. Still, he's not doing much in the way of fighting back against the flurry of nontroversies hitting him right about now, and should really have fought back on the IRS thing. Instead, he rolled over and let the inmates run the asylum once again, not even bothering to disagree or defend the IRS for doing its job, and again letting the Republicans paint government as tyrannical. It's a damn shame that he only has spine when it doesn't matter, and never seems to have one when it comes to protecting people who aren't rapacious parasites.

Could be upgraded if Immigration reform passes, and some other stuff gets done... like more on Infrastructure, or ENDA, or Tax Reform, or Background Checks, or DOMA repeal if SCOTUS doesn't knock it down, or giving states more flexibility on marijuana, end to gerrymandering, automatic voter registration, filibuster reform... without any big failures or scandals.

I'm satisfied mostly with what he's got done on the issues, although I do think he could have be far firmer on a lot of economic issues and on the IRS scandal while using the rising tide of public opinion to at least open a national dialogue on the Drug Wars. Considering he got a decent health care reform bill passed though, I think he may very well end up being among our top ten Presidents.
