Although I am at least hoping for modest Liberal support, and I always probably idealistically hope that Liberal and Labor will support one another when one of them does not have someone headlining a ticket (i.e., Liberal), I still should have included a NOTA option - I just did not think of it. I know Nix would love to field Liberal concerns and to work with them, but if people want to declare neutrality, then that is their choice. It's certainly not my choice, and it still would not be mine were I not on the ticket.

If you guys plan on doing Regional Senate endorsements, I would be very much honored by the support of your party's members for the IDS Senate seat. I will glady answer any questions you might have about my record or positions either in my campaign thread or by PM. Thanks and I look forward to potentially receiving your support in this election.

Okay, about 24 hours to go or so before the initial 72 are up, and by my count we have seven voters. If we can get two more that is 1/4 of the party.

If we can wrap this up, Senate endorsements would be next followed by selecting a vice chair if any are interested. If Superique is chair he'll proceed as he sees fit, but that is how I will proceed (Senate endorsements next followed by V.C.). Just take things one at a time until the ball is rolling. Smiley

I would also like to request the endorsement of the Liberal Party for my Senate run.  Please feel free to ask me any questions about my positions in my campaign thread.  On the whole, I believe our platforms have much in common, and I would be honored to have this great party's support. Smiley

(I'm favorable to endorse Scott, TNF and Yankee)
Maybe we should send a message to all liberal members?

If the Liberal party holds senate endorsements vote I would like to be considered for the Northeast Senate one. A healthy Liberal party is needed to offer a variety of democratic choices in this game. I invite Liberal members from my region to consider me when they vote in the senate election. Thank you.

After 72+ hours, I have the following counts:

Party Chair: 4-3 (DemPGH-Superique)
Pres. Endorse: 3-3-1 (Nix-NOTA-Matt)

The Presidential endorsement is a tie between Nix and remaining neutral. I would like to encourage Liberals, however, to vote for Nix on the grounds that I believe as a candidate he comes closest to representing what the party stands for. I am tempted, though, to send this to "overtime."

There are two more orders of business: 1) Senate elections and 2) Vice Chair. Superique, Windjammer, or others, would you like to be vice chair? If Superique wants it, he's got it by nature of him coming in second.

Senate endorsements: Select one from the following:

NORTHEAST SENATE

[  ] Scott (Light-NH)
[  ] Poirot (Independent-NY)

MIDEAST SENATE

[  ] Siren (Light-VA)
[  ] Talleyrand (Labor-MO)
[  ] Bmotley (Federalist-IN)
[  ] JCL (Independent-IN)
[  ] TJ  in Cleve (Federalist-OH)

MIDWEST SENATE

[  ] TNF (Labor-WY)
[  ] Maxwell (Federalist-KS)

IDS SENATE

[  ] Hashemite (NMAM-FL)
[  ] NCYankee (Federalist-NC)

PACIFIC SENATE

[  ] Sbane (Liberal-CA)
[  ] Politics Junkie (Labor-OR)

I accept the duty of being vice-chair but I believe that we ought to have more candidates on the regional elections!

I won't seek the post of vice chair. Superique is clearly the best candidat for this office and I will support and vote for him. The liberal party needs to merge his "progressist" faction and his "moderate" faction. A DemPGH-Superique direction is probably the best ticket we can have to combine this two  factions!

Okay, and thanks to those of you participating here. I sent a few PMs to see if I can drag a few more in here, but I will call this thing with what we've got on Thurs. evening before the polls open.

Superique, sounds good. I'll be happy to share responsibility with you, so we'll stay in touch.

JCL, noted - I changed it above. I had just copied and pasted the ballot from another thread.

Yes! I'm writing them in for President and Vice President for the exact same reason. If it weren't for Atlasians like them, I don't know if I'd still be around. I'm proud to have their leadership for the Liberal Party.

Folks, I'm a little preoccupied with a court case that's coming, but nonetheless I wanted to get this in. I'll call it this evening with whatever we've got after dinner and after I've consumed my share of Merlot, probably, or maybe if it's warm today a Chardonnay, we'll see. But that'll be around 8:00 p.m. Eastern or so and before the polls open.

As far as the Mideast goes, I'm sorry, I would eagerly support either Talleyrand or Siren. And Yankee has just proven himself to me to be a hell of a PPT, so that's on merit and seriousness. Edit: And his devil emoticon!

Endorsements: Out of seven voters who participated:

Scott wins endorsement 7-0

Siren wins endorsement 6-0

TNF wins endorsement 4-3

NCYankee wins endorsement 5-0

Sbane wins endorsement 7-0

Now, there is a court case going on and of course we have an election this weekend, so let's wait for the dust to settle a few days and then we'll commence with discussion about the platform. We can make changes, not make changes, but we can certainly look at it. But let's hang back for a few days right at the moment.

I'd like to remind our Midwest Liberals that Senate candidate TNF has endorsed Sbane's opponent, we might want to think about doing the same for his.

Furthermore, the guy has been a National Movement sympathizer and this is no good at all!
