A new Gallup poll shows Christie with a 52% favorability rating nationwide with 20% viewing him unfavorably. The party breakdown is even more interesting: Republicans have a favorable opinion of him by the tune of 58%-23%. 50% of Indepedents and 52% of Democrats have a positive feeling of the Governor as well.

You're joking but I think people who asked his parents how they felt actually did get more accurate results than Gallup in 2012.

Great numbers for a general election. Christie better pray that Cruz and some other loonies jump into the race and create a sideshow.

Or not. It's those loonies who keep tarnishing the party's image and tainting its general election candidates.

In 2005 McCain's numbers were 51/22. Just saying.

Did people really think he'd be this big a deal back when he was running for governor? I wish I'd followed it more... but there really is something about him that makes me think he'd be able to bring people together in a much more real way than Obama ever could.

Christie is already having success uniting left and right.

No, that was the other 2009 GOP Gubernatorial nominee: Bob McDonnell. Remember when he was the next big thing?

They pulled Romney to the right, yeah, but Christie is a much stronger candidate (at this point) than Mitt. He'll play to the conservative base like any other moderate trying to win the primaries, but you won't hear him stoop to self-deportation rhetoric.
