Will formally announce after Labor Day, but he's in for all intents and purposes.

The Democrats should just support him, as they did with Sanders in Vermont.  It would be worth ousting LePage.

I suspect many Democratic voters will vote for him strategically this time.

What is the deal with these independents and Democrats running against each other in Maine? I get that the Democrat was more right-wing than Chafee in RI-GOV 2010 but what is the disagreement here? These guys don't strike me as Bernie Sanders independents.

I'd support him 100% over whoever the Democrat is unless it's Mike Michaud.

Why? Judging from your SM scores, Michaud seems like your type of Dem.

Many did in 2010, but Libby Mitchell's presence cost Cutler.

He's saying Michaud is the only Dem he WOULD vote for over Cutler.

Oh, good.

Well Sanders and King are much more favorable than Cutler is right now, so it's somewhat of a false analogy. A Generic D still manages to split the vote so LePage wins, but it's worth noting Cutler is within the MOE. I'm praying Cutler can pull this off.

I agree partisanship can be disgusting (note my sig), but in this case all I see are the people of Maine being given something very rare that very few Americans are ever lucky enough to have, a race with multiple choices with a chance to win. The goal should be to have more choices, not fewer.
