My apologies if this isn't the right board for this sort of thing.

I really enjoy drawing districts in Georgia, especially metro Atlanta. The political polarization makes it fun- its gerrymandering vs. the VRA. The South(including MD and DE, because they have similar polarized patterns) is generally enjoyable in this way.

I've drawn NC countless times, obviously.

Other than that, TX, VA and LA are good.

TX can be pesky, because I'm not quite sure how to draw the Hispanic districts to conform to the VRA.

Agreed on GA, even more fun because I'm moving there soon (DeKalb county) and it helps me research the neighborhoods etc. And Ohio and Maryland since those are also states I'm familiar with.

I enjoy Pennsylvania because of the many possible combinations and that no city outside of Philly needs to be chopped.

I love doing Florida, LA, and Texas with NC, and Mississippi rounding out the top 5

The Northwest Territories, plus PA, plus AZ.  I didn't enjoy CA, because the software crashed all the time, and the task was just so complex and Herculean.

Northwest territories? You mean the midwest?

I'd say Washington, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. That's mostly because I made some really nice maps out of those states (and I don't mean from a particularly partisan standpoint). North Carolina is also a pretty good one. Texas is fun only if you ignore the VRA constraints (a nonpartisan map like that tends to favour Democrats, as I may have noted before).

I'd say the state I hate drawing the most is Virginia. It's just too weirdly shaped and I like to draw visually appealing districts. Florida is mostly fine, but I end up with about two or three monstrosities with everything else looking great. For the most, I don't like to draw states that require ugly VRA districts.

NH, Maine & Vermont. Like a warmer version of my homeland.
