You applied for a job at Target and JcPenney, but any place else?  Since Target fell through, what will you do if JcP falls through?

How many adults are in the congregation? It sounds like a small number from the worship services.

I'll do that tomorrow morning so it can be fresher.

I haven't applied any place else, but I'm thinking about Walmart and Subway.

We do have a very small congregation.  There were 19 of us who went to Eastwood yesterday morning.  6 children and 13 adults.  There would have been 15 adults, but one (who is actually 17, but acts like an adult) was at a church camp meeting with his buddy who goes to another church east of Harrah, and one had company come in from Guymon, Oklahoma (panhandle).  It was a bigger representation than I thought, really.

A verb that doesn't act like a typical verb in a language. In English, for example, the typical way to form the past tense is with the suffix -ed.
Example:
Mark Sanford cheats on his wife. (Present)*
Mark Sanford cheated on his wife. (Past)

However, there are some English verbs that don't work that way. The verbs that don't follow typical patterns are irregular.
Example:
Mark Sanford is the representative from South Carolina's 1st district. (Present)
Mark Sanford was the representative from South Carolina's 1st district. (Past)

I'll be leaving for VBS in a little over an hour.  We'll have dinner and room set up from 1645-1830.  The kids will start the Vacation Bible School in the Sanctuary at 1800 and then make their way to the "exhibits" at 1830.  We will have five rounds of kids for 20 minutes each until 2030 when the kids will go back into the Sanctuary to finish things up until 2100.  We should be able to leave between 2100 and 2115.  This will be the same Tuesday and Thursday, as well.  Wednesday, I won't be at VBS because of business meeting at my church, and then Friday will be the same except with 10 minute rotations, instead of 20 minutes, so I may be out of there a little earlier on Friday.

I may be dumb, but I'm not THAT dumb. Smiley  I know what to say and what not to say.  I will be fine tomorrow.  I'm not nervous about it at all, which I don't know is a good thing or not, but I know that if I get the job, I get the job; if I don't, I don't.  This  particular job is not critical.  If I do get a job, fantastic.  If I don't, the only thing it will likely do is push back my move date to Kenya.  No big deal.

The first night of VBS is over.  I had a lot of fun getting to interact with about 200 kids from 1st through 6th grades.  We had some A/V difficulties that we finally got worked out, but even in the midst of that, my Pastor Cousin who I was helping is good at improvisation, so he just took the book and started teaching.  There were 5 rotations of kids - each grade by themselves with 5th and 6th graders together.  Tomorrow, I don't have anything until my interview with JC Penney at 1500 and then VBS again at 1645.

Bushie what made you apply to jcp rather than other dept. Stores.?  Just curious.

I chose Jcp because of its proximity to where I'm living (only 12 miles, no interstate).  Plus, its the first one I thought of when I started applying last Tuesday.  It's not the closest job I've ever had, but its the one that makes the most sense economically.

This is interesting to me. Obviously Santa Clara County isn't at all dense, but I certainly wouldn't consider a department store 12 miles away to be close by. Is everything in suburban Oklahoma really that far apart?

I'm in more of a rural exurb, a suburb of the suburb if you will.  Where my house was, I was only 2 miles from JC Penney and Target and had several restaurants, fast food joints, auto shops, banks, barbers on the way.

^^^^^
I live in a city fairly comparable to OKC. Also not very dense. And you can get from one end of town to the other in 12 miles. The Brown family trailer must be way out in the sticks!

It's already been said, but ... prep for the interview. Read a few interview guides online and call a friend to practice if you have to. You still have my number. Don't over prepare, but don't slough it off just because this job is "unimportant."

Do you know which department you would be in or what you would be doing?

It is a temporary, seasonal position and I would be assisting customers with whatever they need, restocking items, and rearranging the appearance of items after a customer has looked through them to get them ready for the next customer.  I would have a defined employment period with a definite end date, but this is better than nothing.  I'm not looking for anything long term, anyway, as I could be done with the CAD certificate as early as mid April.

The official title is Temporary Service Specialist.
