I believe the uptick in unemployment was an outlier if job growth remains average or improves and the population continues to age...

What are you all talking about? It was all over the news (BBC, CNN, Bloomberg, etc.) and the stock market soared. Do you only get your unemployment news from DailyKos?

I meant in the context of this forum, as I believed the "nobody cares" sentiment was referring to the Atlas boards.

Yes. As well as the websites (Yahoo, HP) and news channels (MSNBC, FOX) I tuned into quickly that day. Even the last few months it at least made headlines, but not last Friday.
