Hey everybody! I haven't been on here in awhile and frankly, I'm not sure why. Anyway, I'm currently in the process of making alternate elections from 1788-2020. This is a project I have been working on for almost a year now! Right now, I'm currently working on the 2012 election. I plan on making it where for example, if John Adams is elected in 1788, he will run in the primaries in 1792. I think you all will like this series. I will post the results whenever I finish this project (which will be soon). If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask below!! Thanks!! --Dylan Cheesy

Excuse my French, but may I ask what the  Joseph Martin did wrong in order to allow 43 years of straight Democratic control?

January 25, 1960 - While in the Oval Office, President Martin was talking to Vice President Herter, and forgot he was secretly recording his conversations. He made a remark saying that African-Americans "should've been kept as slaves." as his Vice President agreed. He also said that he's not the only Republican to think that. While he didn't name any other Republican, he basically said that the Republican Party wanted African-Americans to be slaves again. A newspaper somehow got a hold of this recording and published it. A lot of Americans were angry and Senator John F. Kennedy, who was running for President at this time, said President Martin's statements were "very wrong" and that "America needs a change of leadership!" and so Kennedy was elected. President Martin apologized saying, "The American people took it the wrong way." Vice President Herter also apologized. basically ending their political careers forever.

No. As you see with Jerry Brown, Paul Simon, John Glenn ect., they lost re-nomination because they were unpopular.
