One of the finest FF's

Of course I said that about Rand Paul's filibuster.

Anyone who can go on that long is an automatic FF, regardless of the subject.

What about if they're genuinely socially liberal and economically/fiscally conservative?

Does libertarianism as we know it mandate that one believe that life begin only upon exiting the womb? And if it does not, does it mandate that murder be legal?

It matters not, since it's up to liberals and those left of center to define your ideology for you.

At the moment no bigger FF in Texas! When the government makes a woman's reproductive choices for her, that qualifies as "anti-choice."

She's kind of like Michelle Bachmann in that she's trapped in an unfriendly state. She might be popularly nationally or in a congressional district, but in state politics she's under Rick Perry's thumb. Any movement far enough to the right to be remotely competitive in state politics would alienate the very support she gained during her filibuster. If only she were from a Blue State or even a Purple State she'd be golden.

HP - it's nice that she took a stand, though it was something we greatly differ on. Honestly grateful that she's in Texas, as she could be potent in a blue state. I don't think she's quite as great of a candidate as people think, though - she literally has made a name for herself on probably the most divisive issue in politics.

I am always glad to see old fashioned filibusterers, but that's about where my approval ends. The bill was bad, but not because of the 20 week part (in my opinion I'd have a flat out ban), but it placed ridiculous regulations that would shut down some women's health clinics that lower income ladies need for things other than abortions.

if those places stop performing abortions, can't they stay open?   If they are performing surgeries, they should be regulated as surgery centers, even if those surgeries are lethal rather than medical.

I am not pro-choice, so I'm not supremely impressed with her filibuster. That being said, she is the best shot the people of Texas have for much needed medicaid expansion and education reforms. I'll be voting for her for Governor, she's clearly running.

Neutral.

I do not support giving people the liberty to murder. It is still a life (if you disagree here you must have failed biology) whether you want to call it human or not. To kill it is to deprive it the chance of having a life of its own, and to completely rob it of any potential its future could hold. So please, do not roll your eyes because we do not support the idea of choice when another life is at stake.

(Sorry, there are a few areas where I can get a tad pissed)

Leaning towards FF. I've never been a fan of filibusters, though.
