Who are some politicians/historical figures who, while an FF in your eyes, could be considered to be overrated?

I'll go with Martin Luther King, Jr. While an indispensable asset to the civil rights movement, he was also a plagiarist and adulterer. Ironically, he is the only individual who gets his own US holiday while the man who actually freed the slaves has to share a day with a slaveholder. I think this is a disservice to the countless other people who contributed their efforts to civil rights.

FDR.  He refused to sign anti-lynching legislation for fear of splitting the Democratic Party, even refused to condemn the KKK for that reason.  Not to mention his refusal to let Jewish refugees into the United States.  Or Japanese internment.

Many, but the Dalai Llama is pretty legendarily overrated. Most probably are HPs.

This.

Also Ron and Rand Paul (not much of a FF here but definitely considered one in public opinion).

JFK, RFK, and the "Lion of the Senate".  They were FFs, but not as great as many believe.

Libertarians tend to overrate Ayn Rand, who hated Libertarianism.

Politically speaking, generally everyone considered an "FF," especially in academic circles, is some degree of "HP," generally in proportion to their sanctification.

I will therefore restrict myself to private individuals.  One excellent example is Mother Teresa, probably the most overrated individual of the 20th century, held up as some kind of great humanitarian when she was an evil, greedy, sadistic witch.  Nikola Tesla is overrated for being underrated.  You will notice that if you Google him there aren't too many fewer results than the supposedly overrated (vis-a-vis Tesla) Thomas Edison, and as of a few weeks ago he had more.  Furthermore, people seem to seriously believe he was creating some sort of dieselpunk utopia in his later years as opposed to just having gone batsh**t crazy.  A whole bunch of Nobel Peace Prize winners were wholly undeserving but I won't go into that.
