actually, Rococo's vote counts.  The last election he voted in was the October Presidential Election.  He has 144 posts since then, so his vote counts.  The  other three don't though.

A pretty ridiculous loophole when you think about it; Rococo has posted fewer times than Master Jedi since the December elections, but is rewarded by the fact that he didn't vote in December.

I support counting all of the ballots, however.

I won't personally challenge any ballots that have been cast so far.

I did; I admit that I did not think of this potential problem at the time. It was an oversight on the part of everyone. I support the overall bill, but that was a loophole that hopefully will be corrected.

Update: Wrong addition on my part gives KEmp one more vote, Lewis one less vote.

Also: I move that Clay's vote does not count. He voted in the December elections and has less than 25 posts between December and now. I am no longer counting his vote.

According to my count I currently have 7 votes, including the second preference from Bullmoose which flows to myself and Nation's absentee ballot. I am pretty sure that this is the right count so if you could change it that would be great.

Er, yes, I kind of didn't think about that.  I've posted a proposed revision to the statute (now I'm very glad it's a statute, not an amendment) on the legislation introduction thread.

Why not?  It was passed before this election.

The law says 25 posts between votes but since the bill was passed after the last vote how can it apply?

I don't want Naso to win by getting the inactive vote, though I'm sure he doesn't care at all.

Yes, Texasgurl is right.  See section 4 of the amendment accompanying the statute:

"The parts in Section 3 pertaining to the requirement of registered voters to be active members shall not be enforced on voters who have registered prior to the passage of this amendment until they have voted in at least one federal election."

No.  I recall that I put that in there so we couldn't just pull it out without people having a chance to get to know that it exists, a function which it certainly has successfully served, but I still will be quite disappointed if Naso wins this election because of inactive voters after all the flak that the Democratic Party has gotten for doing so.
