Thanks for the reminder Smiley Yes, I'll run again.  Though I suspect we'll want some fresh blood in the Alþing in due time.

We tried a universal legislature for a long time and it was not a good thing for the region.

Hey do we have a drunk driving/boating law on the books? I didn't see one but I could of missed it. If not, I will be happy to draft some legislation for it.

No, not region-wide, but I believe in Atlasia we presume American state laws still apply to their respective states if the region has not passed a law to the contrary, akin to counties being able to create similar laws in some American states.

I think there's nothing wrong with standardizing these laws.

Midwestern State Name Act

1) It has come to our attention that numerous Atlasian personages, including many from within the Most Serene Republic itself, continue to refer to Midwestern states with outdated names.
2) Use of those outdated names will hereby lead to a $100 fine, or with the use of a Sad smiley, for each utterance, whichever is more practicable.
3) The Governor of the Midwest shall be empowered with the ability to deputize various members of the Midwestern public with the ability to administrate fines for use of the outdated names.
4) The abbreviations of state names in the Most Serene Region of the Midwest are as follows:
a) Joy: JY
b) Moxie: MX
c) Serenity: SR
d) Vitality: VY
e) Grit: GR
f) Harmony: HY
g) Bluster: BL
h) Wonderment: WO
i) Amity: AM
j) Mirth: MH

Please relinquish your claim on New Mexico. It was traded fairly for Montana 8 years ago.

Well it is currently being voted on by the people of the Midwest.

It is currently in the constitution; the proposed amendment simply continues our rightful claim to Swagger.

Thank you, PJ. As the sole resident of New Mexico, I object very strongly. Stop trying to take the land out from under Tyrion's feet!

How insulting to not give the Most Serene Republic its proper name, let alone your horrendous misspelling of "Swagger".

I would very much hope that the Midwest takes advantage of the Supreme Court's ruling in Jbrase v. Atlasia and abolishes the old and out of date names that have clouded up discourse for far too long Smiley

Given that there's not a presiding officer, I'll pretend I can be one.  Let's give 24 hours for any more nominations and debate... so the nomination period will close at 12:00 (noon) CDT on July 24th.  And then 24 hours for a vote, again closing at 12:00 (noon) CDT.

Okay, it's been more than 24 hours, and the only nominee is Dereich.  Dereich, do you accept this position?

Congratulations!  It is now up to you to appoint a temporary Archduke and temporary Regional Senator, with replacement elections to be held this coming weekend.
