Discussion is re-opened (since it never ended), but considering the current events with the IDS, I highly recommend dropping this bill.

I won't support this bill. I think it will damage the situation. The Atlasia government must end this conflict and I trust the senators!

What is wrong with the bill?  We are asking politely, unlike the IDS.

I think the Pacific must stay a region, we shouldn't annex them!

The Midwest has no valid claim to New Mexico, it was traded fairly for Montana.

MaxQue made a good point on this. He said that there is a lot of legal complication right now, and it's not the time to do this. We should wait until the courts act before we legislate on the Pacific. We don't want to be like the IDS and add on legal complication to all of this.

In my opinion, what the NM-AM did to the actual citizens of the Pacific was terrible (no matter how inactive the region was). But if we disregarded the rights of those citizens by annexing right after what has happened would be outright shameless.

Still, the bill does have its merits, so I would like to see more arguments from the bill's sponsor (and hopefully Thomas D as well) so we can take this to a vote in one or two more days.

The Citizens of the Pacific are now in the Feds hands, we will see what the Feds have planned.

And yes it is less violent than the IDS (Partially because I don't think the Midwest has the power to establish a military force), but it has the same intention: to invade on an issue that is clearly within Federal Power right now.

So this bill will probably never pass. Whenever you want to ask for a vote.

Hmmm... Well, I would like to extend discussion for 24 hours from now just in case Thomas D and ilikeverin have something to add.

I would like a more specific explanation of why this is necessary.

This strikes me as a power grab in a time of mass confusion. Which I'm cool with. But let's see what the feds do before we go planting our fabulous flag up and down the west coast.

I see included nothing here about planting a flag or invading or sending troops or any of the nonsense that the Pacific is doing; this is just kindly requesting administrative powers over the unorganized territories while they're unorganized.  Passage would amount to requesting permission for administration, not to any sort of organized claim or annexation.

As an unofficial representative of the IDS government, I'd like to point out that the former Pacific is not currently unorganized - it is administered rather competently by the IDS government. The trains do run on time, after all.

Without further discussion, and considering the points made by both parts, I call for a 24 hour vote.

With a 1-2 vote against this bill, the Pacific Irridentialist Act is dropped.
