I am more of a libertarian, so of course privacy to me is the most important thing society must sustain before our every move is monitored. But what do you think? Also if you want explain why Privacy or Security is needed.

Currently, we have sufficient security but not enough privacy.

Which often tends to be the case, because people vote their fears and it seems to to be in the human nature to fear chaos (in this case, lack of security) more than order (lack of privacy). People preferred Putin over Yeltsin, Hitler over the Weimar Republic etc., so it's not suprising that they prefer security over privacy.

Having large amounts of privacy helps maintain security.

Both, obviously. Some more than the other depending on circumstances.

Privacy, even at the risk of being less secure.

This question makes no sense in general terms. Obviously, some degree of privacy and some degree of security must both be preserved, the question is simply where to draw the line.

I voted privacy because I believe I am more biased toward it than the modern conventional wisdom.

In general, I think we should err on the side of privacy.

Let me put it to you this way, Would you rather have maximum privacy with no security? Or Have maximum security with no privacy?

That doesn't seem quite true given recent events.

This completely depends on the situation at hand. Give more specific details and I'll give an answer.

Alright, in an airport, would you rather have to never go through the horrible security, or let robbers or burglars get away secretly when you have no one watching you or screening you.

Just an example

Both situations would be absolute hell.

What a perfectly nonsensical choice.  'Security'!  You might as well ask the cow if he supports the abattoir.

Security in what way? Are you referring to economics or national security? I'm not arguing with you. I just don't think this thread is very specific.
