Bob Kerrey has been ignored Sad

Common Clinton! We have lost Buchanan, Tsongas, Clinton pretty quickly and now you are withdrawing because you lost the support of Dick Sweet (what a terrible name)?

Once a candidate drops out, they stay dropped out.  The only player I'd consider getting a replacement for if they quit is Bush, and that's because he's a key element of the game.

But now that this timeline is so screwed up, I wonder if we should even continue it.

Let's just continue it. It will be interesting to see how Evan Bayh (a moderate Democrat campaigning on his labor credentials) v. Jerry Brown (A libetarian-ish Democrat who is campaigning on his populist credentials) v. Bob Kerrey (A midwest stronghold) pans out. (considering Harkin is kind of off the trail).

That sounds good to me but don't forget that Kerrey is a moderate as well. :/

Let's not quit on this just yet. Most of us are still active and I assume there shouldn't be any more major skirmishes down the line.

Woah lets not quit the game entirely. I still want to follow it. I'll stay in if its that bad dawgs. I just have a feeling that Brown's gaining a lot of momentum. Can I see some polls first though?

Scott, could you give us one more day for this turn? This is getting really confusing and unless I understand who's in and who's out I prefer not to post a schedule. (Still, I don't want this to die, and perhaps we should let other players join if needed)

David Duke Campaign Schedule: November 14-20

November 14
-Meet and Greet in King Cove, AK
-Meet and Greet in Craig, AK
-Meet and Greet in Houston, AK
-Meet and Greet in Hooper Bay, AK
-Meet and Greet in Delta Junction, AK

November 15
-Town Hall in Valdez, AK
-Town Hall in Bethel, AK
-Rally and Fundraiser in Juneau, AK
-Rally and Fundraiser in Fairbanks, AK
-Rally and Fundraiser in Anchorage, AK
-Meeting with Wally Hickel (seeking endorsement)

Our numbers are inching up by the day. Why, we've got a third of the vote here in Alaska already! It's clear that my fellow Republicans are fed up with President Bush and his un-conservative ways, so how about we elect a true conservative this time around?

November 16
-Rally in Lynchburg, VA
-Rally in Centreville, VA
-Rally in Reston, VA
-Rally and Fundraiser in Norfolk, VA
-Rally and Fundraiser in Arlington, VA

November 17
-Rally in Marrero, LA
-Rally in Monroe, LA
-Rally in Alexandria, LA
-Rally and Fundraiser in Lake Charles, LA
-Rally and Fundraiser in Kenner, LA

How can we trust the president to act on behalf of the people when he not only breaks his own promises, but he also cares more about the people of Israel than here in the United states? It's time we stop giving foreign aid, just another form of welfare, and it's time that we stop giving nations special favors period.

November 18
-Rally in Bossier City, LA
-Rally in Houma, LA
-Rally in New Iberia, LA
-Rally in Slidell, LA
-Rally in Central, LA

November 19
-Rally and Fundraiser in Charleston, SC
-Rally and Fundraiser in Columbia, SC
-Rally and Fundraiser in Greenville, SC
-Rally and Fundraiser in North Charleston, SC

November 20
-Town Hall in Wheatland, WY
-Town Hall in Buffalo, WY
-Rally in Rock Springs, WY
-Rally in Laramie, WY
-Rally and Fundraiser in Cheyenne, WY

Surrogate Schedules

Statement from Governor Bayh

After prayerful consideration with my wife, Susan, we feel now is not the time for a Presidential bid - too many challenges still face our great state, and I hope to continue to serve Indiana for four more years as Governor. A Presidential bid may be on the horizon, but now is not the time.

With such a great field of candidates, Susan and I feel it is best to stay out of the endorsement game for now and see how things unfold. We are confident that whoever emerges victorious from the primary will be victorious against President Bush.

OOC: I disagree with how the game is currently functioning, and maintaining a high level of activity will be difficult for me for the next month.

OOC: Well, we still have Kerrey, Harkin, Gore, Brown and Biden. Seeing that Bush is vulnerable right now, I think it would be realistic for candidates like Lloyd Bentsen, Douglas Wilder or Mario Cuomo to enter the stage, should any new players wish to join (and that would solve our problems so far, unless we skip this phase and we jump to January).

On another note, and considering that Bayh left and that we want to give more energy to the game, can we have New Hampshire polls, a national map and a debate next turn?

Joe Biden's Schedule: From November 14 to November 20, 1991:

The New Hampshire Tour, Part II:

November 14:
-Bus Tour and Barnstorm in Pinardville, NH.
-Bus Tour and Rallies in Rindge, NH.
-Bus Tour in Belmont, NH.

"You will be seeing me around for a while, New Hampshire. I want to get to know the state during this tour, and these past days have taught me a great deal about what is going on right now. And let me tell you what: I don't see a Morning in America, as a Republican would say. I see people starting to lose their jobs, I see business closing down, and I see folks in pain. And that only increases my desire to get to the White House to solve those problems."

November 15:
-Bus Tour and Barnstorm in Stratham NH.
-Bus Tour and Rallies in Pembroke, NH.
-Bus Tour in Gilford, NH.

November 16:
-Bus Tour and Barnstorm in Plaistow, NH.
-Bus Tour and Rallies in Hollis, NH.
-Bus Tour in Hudson, NH.

November 17:
-Bus Tour and Barnstorm in Bow, NH.
-Bus Tour and Rallies in Hanover, NH.
-Bus Tour in Seabrook, NH.

"Am I ready to debate? You can bet on it! I won't get cocky like in 1988, but I'm quite confident of my chances while making the cause for our campaign. I'm not running on populism, as several candidates are. I'm running on bold, specific ideas that come across a part of a bigger message, a message that I feel. The message of a new America."

November 18:
-Bus Tour and Town Hall in Barrington, NH.
-Bus Tour and Rallies in Franklin, NH.
-Bus Tour in Milford, NH.

November 19:
-Bus Tour and Town Hall in Litchfield, NH.
-Bus Tour in Hampstead, NH.
-Bus Tour and Town Hall in Weare, NH.

"Sure, we don't have the big endorsements, or the money, perhaps not even a big organization that can engulf the whole country. But we have the spirit and the message, and that is all that really counts in politics. I'm used to be the underdog: I was the underdog in my first Senate campaign, and everybody thought that I was going to lose in a humiliating way. But guess what, I won!"

November 20:
-Bus Tour and Barnstorm in Berlin, NH.
-Bus Tour in Durham, NH.
-Bus Tour and Town Hall in Exeter, NH.

11/14/1991
-Breakfast W/ Senator John Kerry
-Fundraiser in Boston, Massachusetts
-Town Hall in Boston, Massachusetts
-Dinner W/ Senator Edward Kennedy & Council President Tom Menino

"Ted, Governor Bayh knew that things were outta whack in Washington. He understood the need for Change, just like you and I do. We both recognize the need for reform of the Health Care Sysetm, which is why I'm proposing opening Medicare for all Americans. We also both know that we need to cut taxes for middle class families who've been ignored during the Reagan/Bush Presidencies. And I know I can't get any of this done without your help and endorsement."

11/15/1991
Flight to New Hampshire
-Meet & Greet in Antrim, New Hampshire
-Campaign Rally in Antrim, New Hampshire
-Town Hall in Antrim, New Hampshire
-Stump in Antrim, New Hampshire

11/16/1991
-Campaign Rally in Hancock, New Hampshire
-Meet & Greet in Hancock, New Hampshire
-Town Hall in Hancock, New Hampshire
-Phone Call W/ Tommy Lee Jones

"Tommy, old pal. I know you don't like getting involved with these kinds of things, but you know I'm running for President. And no, I'm not having drinking parties in the Lincoln Bedroom. But I would like to get your endorsement. Ok, we can have one party, but only if you come out on the trail for a few."

[/i]
11/17/1991
-Town Hall in Pelham, New Hampshire
-Campaign Rally in Pelham, New Hampshire
-Meet & Greet in Pelham, New Hampshire
-Stump in Pelham, New Hampshire

11/18/1991
-Meet & Greet in Brookline, New Hampshire
-Town Hall in Brookline, New Hampshire
-Stump in Brookline, New Hampshire
-Campaign Rally in Brookline, New Hampshire

"Governor Bayh's abrupt exit leves a void in this race and in my heart. He's a friend of mine. But he understood what was happening in this country. He got it. He knew that working families were being overlooked by the current administrations, and recognized that Change was necessary. I will fit for them, and I have fought for them. I have a plan to cut taxes for the middle class. I just need the chance to implement it."

11/19/1991
Fight to South Dakota
-Campaign Rally in Rapid City, Souh Dakota
-Town Hall in Rapid City, South Dakota
-Meet & Greet in Rapid City, South Dakota
-Stump in Rapid City, South Dakota

11/20/1991
-Campaign Rally in Sunnyside, Souh Dakota
-Town Hall in Sunnside, South Dakota
-Meet & Greet in Sunnyside, South Dakota
-Stump in Sunnyside, South Dakota

"It sure is sunny out here. And the temperatures can only go up. We need a President to invest in renewable energy and end the threat of global warming. Reagan didn't do it. Bush refuses to do it. It's ok to give someone else a chance."
