I think the bigger question is why it's now so trendy among the left to trash him?

Do you think he typed this with a straight face?

It's fun to play around with different rules for the Electoral College but it's really one of the greatest things this country has to offer. It protects us from the majority.

I mean, there's defending the electoral college, and then there's this, which is laughable.

He comes off as someone who really wants to be Krazen, but lacks the self-awareness and sense of humor that only Krazen provides. Also, to put it simply, isn't nearly as intelligent.

Third Way. Having to hold your nose and vote for it for fear of the other candidate, is very fitting for it.

I'm not saying they would be a majority of the population (or even close to it) but where in your opinion have you either experienced it or heard about it influencing the culture?

when we are being sincere, what we say and the way we say it says quite a lot about us.

And that whole "dudes drink beer, chicks drink wine" (or that race-based BS krich is going on about) is f'ing idiotic.

It's almost as if racial classifications are completely arbitrary and artificial constructions...

I'm hesitant to put a sarcastic comment here but it belongs:
America is now debating the race of an imaginary man. Roll Eyes

Banning prostitution won't do anything beyond on paper. It is much more likely that by forcing it underground, those in the trade are going to be at greater risk and danger.

This proliferation of mines and institutes where other posts are just quoted out of context is bad. With the exception of the comedy goldmine, they're mostly used just as a lazy way to express one's own opinion without actually responding in the thread.

And the share of sexists on here is so high you never know if people are serious, semi-serious or just cynical when they say things like that.

And before that it was slavery, and before that it was massacre of the Native Americans.... etc etc.  This is so obvious it doesn't need further comment.

Schatz isn't entitled to the seat because he's an incumbent (especially since he was never elected).
Hanabusa isn't entitled to the seat because Inouye wanted her appointed.

A lot of entitlement all around in this race.

I'm supporting Schatz not because he's entitled to it as an incumbent, but because there is no reason for him as an incumbent to be thrown out by his own party.  Like I said in the Hawaii thread, if someone is getting a primary challenge and hasn't acted in a way that's objectionable, I'm inclined to support the one getting challenged.  In fact, from my perspective it's the Hanabusa supporters who feel like they're entitled to win since the only reasons they're giving people to vote for her are "muh Daniel Inouye" and "muh Senate women."  Well, if we pick our candidates solely on their gender or what a corpse would have wanted, then we should be ashamed of ourselves.

I'm legitimately surprised that the OP didn't include a link to a pop punk or post-hardcore cover of the song.

It seems so facile to me to rush to judgment on a matter like this. Why do our judgments matter? They don't. None of us have any say here. This is one of the most important world events of this century so far and it's something that people will be reading about in history books three hundred years from now, so why is it that people feel so compelled to declare FFs and HPs? Can't we talk about this without the need to make intellectually sterile moral judgments?

Anything described by its supporters as "common sense" is almost invariably a bad idea.

It has been my opinion and experience that until the midterms are over there's little accurate to discern about the upcoming presidential cycle. Speculations at this point fuel an interest that seems little different than the grocery store mags going on about Jay-Z and Beyonce. Given that I'm not expecting high quality on that board, let's check again in a year.

All right, that f**king does it.

The Ambien is making me more irritable tonight, but I'm f**king fed up with this sage authoritarian self-parody BULLS**T.

But Bud Light along with other highly marketed light beers basically tastes like someone drank a real beer and pissed it out.
