Yankee (through I appreciate the vote for me, TNF).

I suppose I have to count the committee vote as in the last Senate?

Quota: 10 votes, 3 seats : (10/(3+1))+1 = (10/4)+1 = 2.5+1 = 3.5 => 3 votes to be elected (always round down)

GOR:
1st count
Yankee: 3 (Yankee, Scott, MaxQue)
TNF:2 (TNF, Gass)
Napoleon:2 (Napoleon, sbane)
TJ:2 (Hagrid, TJ)
Kalwejt: 1 (Kalwejt)

Yankee reached the quota, he is elected. Kalwejt is eliminated.

2nd count
Yankee: 3
Napoleon:3 (Napoleon, sbane, Kalwejt)
TNF:2 (TNF, Gass)
TJ:2 (Hagrid, TJ)

Napoleon reached the quota, he is elected. As TNF and TJ are tied at all rounds, it’s not clear what process is used here. Also, 5 persons referenced TNF higher than TJ and 5 lower than TJ. If we count 2nd preferences, TNF wins 2-1 (Me and Scott-Yankee)

Judiciary:
1st count.
TJ:3 (Yankee, Hagrid, TJ)
MaxQue: 3 (TNF, Gass, MaxQue)
Kalwejt: 2 (Napoleon, Kalwejt)
Napoleon:1 (Sbane)
Scott:1 (Scott)

TJ and MaxQue reached the quota, they are elected. Kalwejt is eliminated. Same tie issue here. Napoleon wins 2-1 on second preferences, but Scott is ranked over Napoleon on 7 ballots. Anyways, if Scott is eliminated, Kalwejt reach 3 and if Napoleon is eliminated, we have a 2-2 tie, but Kalwejt leads on the previous round and is then elected.

Sorry to be so helpless.

PPT: Yankee FWIW

MaxQue, is there any better counting method to be used in the future to avoid those issues?

No? That kind of preferential voting isn't very appropriated for such small a population, but any knind of FPTP would cause all committee members to be centrist and/or wouldn't solve ties issues.

I suppose we should just settle on a way to brake ties. Current electoral law counts the number of preferences (but, as everybody preferenced everyone, everyone had 10 and I think it's a very dumb way of breaking draws) and then, Senate voting to break the tie (which can be assumed to be taking the highest ranking preference in the tie for each Senator). And that's assuming than the version of the law on the Wiki is the current one.
