Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

So, should somebody edit the TV Tropes page so it links to this now?

Reading back through these, it's really interesting how vastly different the earlier seasons are from the ones now and how much darker the aura surrounding the main character is today.

When we first meet Bushie, he is a likable guy with a stable job just looking for love, which is in stark contract to the current Bushie. I am reading back now to remember the better times.

I think the Breaking Bad comparison is actually quite apt.

Bushie, if you need to be loved so badly by another being, just get a dog. Seriously. If you treat it kindly and feed it three times a day it will love you more than any human could. Rescue one from a shelter while you're at it.

"I forgot to feed my dog today but I will definitely remind myself to feed him tomorrow."

"I talked to my pastor and I plan to walk the dog for 30 minutes once every week from now on."

Chillingly prescient.
