http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/senate-races/309537-lautenberg-family-endorses-pallone-over-booker

The family of Frank Lautenberg endorsed Frank Pallone over front-runner Cory Booker for the special election to replace the deceased New Jersey senator in the US Senate. In a statement by Josh Lautenberg he criticized the Newark Mayor's work ethic, calling him a "Show horse not a work horse" and that he "lacked his father's work ethic."

So does this mean anything, or are they just spewing hot air because they're still angry that Booker was going to primary the father?

They seem a bit bitter about the entire thing. Pallone was supposed to be the heir apparent to Lautenberg until Booker's star decided to shine. Except this isn't Lautenberg's seat anymore, and neither is it Chiesa's. It's the people's seat. I'm honestly leaning towards Pallone as well because Booker's too close to Wall Street for my tastes, but the Lautenbergs should stop being so bitter about it and let the people decide his successor.

If Pallone wanted this seat, he would have run for it in 2002 when he had the opportunity gift wrapped. We do remember this, yes? That Pallone was offered the nomination when Torricelli resigned? Pallone said yes, only to recant a few hours later after talking with his family. It hurt him tremendously in Democratic circles, and he's been struggling to rebuild since.

Pallone's been a non-starter for the last eleven years.

Cory Booker will win this by such a significant margin that it will make Pallone's candidacy a total embarrassment. Go Cory!

Both Frank Pallone and Corey Booker would make fantastic senators in my opinion, but I might be tempted to vote for Pallone in the primary beacuse he has been my congressman since the late 1990s.

Eh, neither of them are as good as Rush Holt.  But they'd both be good enough.

.

That's a good way to summarize my attitude towards him too, "a show-horse not a work-horse."

He'll probably still win though Sad
