Press conference will be livestreamed at 3 PM.

This is apparently out of nowhere and has surprised her closest supporters, and the DSCC has an announcement planned for just after the press conference (https://twitter.com/phillipmbailey/status/351737287924662273).

Another good sign: Jerry Lundergan just arrived at the building where the announcement will be made (https://twitter.com/joearnoldreport/status/351746352159543296).

Republicans on Twitter are calling the set-up of the announcement a train wreck.

Because when I vote, I think 'How well can this candidate set up a press conference'

Also the "McConnell voted against raising the minimum wage, but has quadrupled his salary' is a great opening attack.

Keep in mind Bill and Hillary Clinton are likely to campaign for her, and both are still very popular in Kentucky.

It'll be interesting to see how this affects McConnell in the Senate.

Does he keep being an obstructionist, or does he start to show a bit more bipartisanship to make himself look good?

Holy crap that ad is awful. Does McConnell even remember how to campaign?

Mitch McConnell is like a rabid dog with rabies whose owners (the rest of the GOP caucus) are too attached to. Even though the responsible thing to do with the dog is to take it out into the field behind the farm house and shoot it, they refuse too, and will refuse too, until it bites the fat little neighbor kid and they get sued. The party needs to tell Mitch that his time is up, and allow for another Kentucky GOPer to take up the fight. Besides, Senate Minority Leader John Thune doesn’t sound all that bad.

But Senate Minority Leader John Cornyn would be one of the worst things ever.

In case no one noticed, McConnell is spelled wrong at the end of the ad.

Do the Kentucky Republicans have anyone on their bench that could do better than him, though?

One of the Congress Critters (Barr, Guthrie, or Massie most likely) would do fine. There's also Ag Commissioner James Comer.

We'll see how Democrats like her in a few years after having a Manchin-like record in the Senate...Roll Eyes

I get more of a Begich/Tester/Landrieu vibe from her.

Also, I like Manchin except for his gay marriage stance.

So can somebody explain to me again why Kentucky Democrats are still competitive statewide even though the state is incredibly Republican nationally?

National Democrats have forgotten how appealing Populism is in the south.

www.alisonforky.com

Her website is up. Her sign seems very Heitkamp-esque.

But McConnell's staffers are on a roll with sh**tty campaign moves, setting up a fake Grimes website and Facebook page that looks convincing at first glance:
