Well the Constitution is kind of a terrible document and he nearly got us wiped off the map by bungling the War on 1812.

Easily one of the worst Presidents in American history.

The best of the Democratic-Republicans, but that's not saying much.  Lean FF, largely on his policy of national reconciliation and good foreign policy moves.  Things I don't like include, obviously, sending Andrew Jackson to go exterminate Indians, and the Cumberland Road veto.  The Missouri Compromise obviously stinks from a distance, but one must grade on a curve at least somewhat (and it's better than the compromises that would come later on...)
