In mid October 1992, Bush/Quayle are caught in a scandal of some sort, and drop out of the Presidential race. The Republican Party does NOT have the ability to field another candidate. While neither Bush or Quayle endorse a candidate, many top Republicans endorse Perot, in an effort to keep the White House out of Democratic hands.

Election Night 1992 arrives, and the contesters are:

Bill Clinton/Al Gore
Ross Perot/James Stockdale

Who wins? How many states and electoral votes does Perot win (if any)? Does Clinton break 50%? Discuss with maps.

Under such a bizarre scenario, Perot does much better, but Clinton still wins.

Clinton/Gore: 435 57.2%)
Perot/Stockdale: 103 (36.0%)
Other: 0 (6.8%)
