This was posted by his Facebook page.

He's spoken to a bunch of DC labor and conservation groups, some Baucus donors, and his staff have apparently made peace and are ready to work with Baucus's people. He's still publicly considering, but he seems like a lock at this point.

Montana will probably jump way up on my "States with great duo of senators" list come January 2015 Smiley

When he posted that PPP poll on Facebook... Safe D now. But he's one of my favorite Dems, so don't mind too much. Tongue

I think odds are about 70:30 that Hillary runs. And if so, he'd be a perfect running-mate for her as a Senator.

Schweitzer is one of my favorite Dems, so this is excellent news.

His gun control stance would've killed him unfortunately. This makes a lot of sense as he can be Clinton's Veep (assuming she runs of course).

Racicot could give Schweitzer a run for his money though.

A PPP poll in February had Racicot leading Schweitzer 46-45.  Additional PPP polling has Schweitzer leading Steve Daines and Tim Fox, but by no more than 10 points.  Its far from a lock...

Marc Racicot would benefit from serving as RNC chairman, and he could put the GWB/Karl Rove machine to work for him in Montana.

After their experiences with Allen and Thompson last cycle, I really don't think the GOP should try reanimating political dinosaurs. Particularly ones who haven't been on a ballot in nearly 20 years.

True, but I think he's enjoying Washington life too much to make a run.

The Schweitzer campaign is doubtless licking their chops at the prospect of running against Racicot in the general. His stint as RNC chairman will just serve to highlight their differences. Two former governors - one stayed in MT and worked for the state, the other moved to DC and became a lobbyist...

Not a huge Schweitzer fan, but I'm pretty sure he'll win anyway.

Btw Champ Edmunds looks like a total badass. Tongue

This thread is absolute proof that nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, in the world of politics can be inferred or assumed.
