If the monarchy still exist by that time the chances are very good. the baby's greatgrandmother is 87 now and still going strong.

Are Canadians at least super psyched about this? This should matter to them.

Not really. No one I know is talking about it.

What are the chances this child will be the monarch at the next turn of the century?  He or she will be 87.

That would make Prince William 118 at the time of death, while I'm not one to doubt advances in medical science, it seems a little unlikely.

I don't think anyone is saying he/she will become Monarch at 87... just the likelihood of them being monarch in 2100...

Oh okay, that would make more sense.

It's pretty funny that the government's decision to ban porn is currently more read than this story on bbc.com

That's because the only news we've really had is that's she's in labour... and that was twelve hours ago.

Yes, I am exited.

If it is a girl, how many British tabloids will be calling her Princess of Wails?  Will the number be higher if she is named after her grandmother Diana?

HRH the Prince(ess) ____ of Cambridge.  (Fourth in line to the thrown, heir apparent, to the heir apparent of the heir apparent)

Wales is a life peerage, in effect, and a new prince(ess) is created.  There has never been a Princess of Wales, as such.

Boy:  Phillip or George (I'd bet George)

Girl:  Victoria, Elizabeth, or Alexandra with Diana as a middle name.  I would expect Diana to be in there.

There would be no numbers until the baby rules.  Yes, it is possible that this baby will be on the throne is 2101, holding a grandchild.  Smiley

Note that is entirely possible for a sovereign to chose a different regal name, as Edward VII was Albert.

When will the name be announced? Will we have to wait until the babtism like with the Danish Royal Family, or will they announce it as soon as  they've made a decission like in the Swedish Royal Family.

You plan on living in Canada that long? Tongue

I wonder if I will even out live William. He may be older, but royals live longer. And as a left hander, I am likely to die younger than average.
