The Department of Internal Affairs and Treasury

SoIA Superique

This is the official government page of the Department of Internal Affairs under Superique’s Tenure.  That is the place where real orders and instructions are signed and it’s also the place for debating our internal issues. Any Regional Governor, Senator, President and Vice-President is allowed to post on that thread while citizens that hold no office may PM the SoIA or post on the Atlasian Hour.

The SoIA, Superique.

Should the cap really be set that low? The minimum wage is currently $11.50 (and quite soon it will be $12.50) and a cap of $30,000 a year would put max hourly wage at around $14.40. With our minimum wage as high as it is prices are sure to be quite a bit higher than in real life; a max salary that low would be a major problem in places with higher standards of living. It also doesn't allow for any difference in salaries between experienced and more productive workers and new hires or for any salary differences for the lower level managers of works programs.

I'm certainly not objecting to any of your fine work; we need someone like you as SoIA. I'd just like to throw my two cents in on something I see as a slight oddity in your otherwise sterling job so far.

Are you controlling for the 32-hour workweek and paid time off, Dereich? I calculate a maximum hourly wage of about $20 per hour. Benefits, I assume, do not count toward the wage cap.

Ah, no I actually hadn't accounted for that. You wouldn't happen to know the bill where that was passed, do you? With that in mind, ignore what I said. I don't THINK most of my objections still stand, although I'm trying to find out more about what sort of impact such a short week would have on prices so I may bring it back up later.

I draw your attention to this post by shua.

Does anybody know if Atlasia has established an official retirement plan for seniors, or is that already covered by the Social Security Act, the basics of which I assume resemble the real life version's?
https://uselectionatlas.org/AFEWIKI/index.php/Comprehensive_Social_Security_Reform_Act

unless I missed it, section 8 of this bill has not been fulfilled.  That this program is being run without any account of its total cost and revenues is worth keeping in mind as the basic income bill is being considered.

Because there is nothing like returning with a desk piling over with paperwork. Tongue

I ran across these earlier and they might come in handy in terms of your recent projects:

https://uselectionatlas.org/AFEWIKI/index.php/Federal-Regional_Relations_Act_of_2010
Of course if future legislation has different mechanism, they supercede this and I think that is how we have almost invariably done it.

What does our corporate tax structure look like? I want to propose closing the overseas tax shelter loopholes and lowering our overall rates if that has not been done already.

To clarify, was this reduction ever passed by the Senate? Or was this simply a budget projection if the changes were implemented?

If they have not been, I plan to tackle that problem as soon as I can. I have learned a lot after my thesis on this very subject. Tongue

I don't know how Atlasian tax law works. I have proposed tax incentives and cuts in the past in the Senate, but perhaps I don't have to do that this time. I have no idea. If anyone else knows, please speak up so I can propose this change to the Senate.
