I am formally announcing that I plan to run for the US Senate seat up for election from the State of Alabama.
I will be running as a write-in candidate, as the ballot-access requirement in Alabama was too much to attempt to overcome.
You may be asking yourself, "why run as a write-in?". The answer is simple, there is almost no difference between the Republicans and Democrats, and I can actually mention issues that are truly important that wouldn't be discussed otherwise. Also, I estimate that between 1-2% of ballots cast this fall will be write-in votes, so, I'm giving the people a name to write-in.
If elected, I will introduce and sponsor the "Read the Bills Act", "Write the laws Act", as well as other legislation that will reduce the size and scope of the Federal Government.

There's something especially creepy about Libertarian Party creeps, though. Even Constitution Party white supremacists at least look like normal functioning adults for the most part.

I remember when that incident happened. Oddly enough I was thinking about in one of my classes as one of the weirder Atlas incidents.

this happened before you registered, sanchez

although I kept quiet about it until that "confessions" thread, if that's what you're thinking, after which was a bit of a sh**tstorm

So that is why he decided to skip 2016. He's afraid of this became a career-ending scandal.

He didn't skip 2016, he's actively campaigning and will soon attend the MA state libertarian meeting in the back room of a fitness gym

*bump*

Watch Perry debate:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKm9bIeznWo

Debate begins at ~44 minutes, and Mr. Perry's introductory remarks involve discussion of tomatoes.

In case anybody missed it (and surely nobody here did, right?), this happened on Saturday in Massachusetts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKm9bIeznWo

Was Gary Johnson there? No, he still hasn't announced.
Was Jesse Ventura there? Lol, of course not.
Was Austin Petersen there? Nope, not even him. (I wonder if he was discouraged because the moderator, George Phillies, has basically come out against his campaign on the Internet).

Instead it was these 4 guys:
  • Steve Kerbel. It's pronounced ker-BELL, guys. A businessman with no political experience as far as I can tell, he's nonetheless already pretty good with standard Libertarian talking points. Won the debate easily, but there are always more fun things to watch for in 3rd party debates than simply looking for who won.
  • Darryl W. Perry. Who here likes radical purists? Because we have here a radical purist fantasy candidate. Think answers involving legalizing meth, abolishing the standing army, and (seriously) abolishing the federal government. Hoo boy. I've also read that he has intentionally not filed FEC paperwork, which I'm sure will work out wonderfully for him.
  • Marc Allan Feldman. Sort of a narrow-issue candidate with a focus on how campaigns should be run. Doesn't like money in politics. Not all that charismatic. His campaign focus reminds me a bit of Michael Jingozian in 2008, and he'll probably have about the same impact (that is to say, none really).
  • Derrick Michael Reid. Showed up late to the debate and is crazy. NWO paranoia, thinks the CIA may have created ISIS, that sort of stuff. Unnatural body language.

So Atlas, who won? (For me: Kerbel.) And who is your favorite LP candidate of those who have announced? (For me: Petersen.)

It's a conspiracy. I for one saw a web poll in which said that 94% of likely Libertarian Primary voters claimed Perry won the debate. Clearly CNN is owned by the Libertarian Party establishment.

The Libertarian Party has a handful of easily-met requirements to list Presidential candidates on their website, including that the candidate has filed with the FEC. Fortunately for Perry, they've given him an exception, because after all, the FEC "lacks constitutional authority."
