My turn to make an intrusive personal poll, because I'm in the mood for it. Feel free to hide behind the poll: that's what I'm doing.

And just to be clear, I'm talking about True LoveTM. Kid's crushes and "friends with benefits" type situations don't count.

No idea. If it's happened, it's unrequited and little point in discussing it.

Unrequited love most definitely counts.

And I obviously won't ask you to discuss it.

14. Unrequited. I didn't exactly have the self-confidence to get it.

Then again at 16. It was requited but we never really got around to it.

Then at 18. I met a girl who actually showed me attention that I got infatuated with, but that died after about three weeks. I had a fling with a girl soon after. I wanted more, she didn't, life went on.

I was 19. If you have any doubt whatsoever, it doesn't count. Love is way crazy out of control. It's not just lust or butterflies.

I remember my first love well. White hair, and tan skin. My parents always told me she was bad for me, but she always seemed so sweet. Then one day in kindergarten, I bit her, and she was gone forever. She's dead now. Cry. I really loved that Twinkie.

Sure it does - its an emotion.

For me it was when I was 26. I'd been very infatuated with girlfriends before, but it wasn't till 26 that I went head-over-heels.. she was a senior in high school, I was a graduate student.. met in a coffeeshop.  It was so 90s...

I don't think I have yet.  Maaaaaybe with this one girl when I was 18, but someone might come along to make that whole thing seem so meaningless.

17...

I broke it off about a half-year ago, but it wasn't until I was removed from it that I really saw what it was

I've just recently found the love of my life last year. Whether or not I was in love before doesn't matter. However, at a dance in 8th grade I had my first girlfriend. I spent most of the night in the bathroom because I was feeling nauseas. At first it seemed like I was going to throw up but it turned out to be diarrhea. Boy did I have gas that night. After smelling up the bathroom, the chaperones had to close the bathroom for the night and I couldn't go back in so I felt like dancing would pass the time by until I could finally pass more gas. I have no idea why the girl I danced with sought me out but she did. I'm just glad she wasn't turned off by the odor from spending 45 minutes on the toilet. We danced, got to know each other, and then went out on a date a week later. The best part about it was by the time we went to a movie the next week, my gas was gone. I was able to sit through the whole movie without getting up, vomiting, or farting loud enough for the others in the theatre to be able to hear. I think she got sick from me though because she got up a few times and let me tell you I could smell it. In fact, a couple people got up and left after realizing her farts weren't just queefs. Hopefully, it wasn't bad enough to send anyone to the hospital with breathing problems. I never liked hospitals myself because I think the bathrooms smell.
WHAT. THE. HELL. WAS. THAT.

Anyway, unreciprocated love at 15, reciprocated one at 19, still with her now.

whoa, toughy

I'll go with 20, as it was the first time I said "I love you" that wasn't just a line to get into a girls pants....as I had already gotten in her pants without it....though, in hind sight, I had fallen love with what was in her pants and not her.  But hey, that's why god made erasers and divorce.

Last option. Love is an overused word.

Depends... I feel today some people tend to downplay their feelings because talking about love sounds "naive" and silly. If the feelings are mature and not merely physical, calling it love makes sense (though obviously only the concerned person can know if it is love or not).
