HP in every way, without reservations.  His father was a quasi-racist paleocon masquerading as "libertarian", and the son is mercifully less entangled with the Lew Rockwell-style states rights scumbags, but is more entangled with orthodox Republican hypocrisy, and still hasn't fully shaken the former.

Remember that Rand's anti-drone filibuster owed more to 90's style "black helicopter" paranoia than anything else- it's cute and a little scary that lefties here think they're making common cause with him on that issue.

Unless he runs for President. Kentucky doesn't allow you to seek two offices at once, iirc.

Yeah, that will be over nice and early for Rand. He'll have enough time to file and run for re-election.

Heh (in an "lol" way).
Agreeing with Cathcon here-Paul will place 2nd or 3rd and if he is in, he is in to win.

I completely agree with you. Ron and Rand are really dangerous, but hopefully, they will never win presidency.

He was the only one to vote against Comey again yesterday, FF.

His father isn't exactly sane by any means but he's not nearly as bad as his son.

FF, he's obviously not afraid to question anything tyrannical or corrupt with our government.

Rand Paul has yet to be a grand dragon for the Klan like Robert Byrd.
Rand Paul has yet to kill someone in a drunk car accident like Ted Kennedy.

Rand Paul has an ideology different from the Democratic Party and shouldn't be crucified for it. Imagine if Republicans did this to Dennis Kucinich or Bernie Sanders. Just because someone doesn't support a free handout on the backs of the non-poor doesn't make them a horrible person.

More pragmatic and sane than his father, but still a massive HP who is right sometimes for the wrong reasons.

I don't doubt that he'd be in it to win but that doesn't mean he will do all that well. He's having his time in the sun now. Don't be so sure it will last.

He'll be in for the early states and fade out during the middle states.
