Should the US give military aid to the regime of Bashar al-Assad?

If we believe what certain people on Atlas say then these are true:

1-Every single Syrian rebel is in fact an Islamist extremist and al-Qaeda makes up the core of the Syrian rebellion.
2-Assad's supporters are good people, and not bloodthirsty murderous thugs.

If we accept this as true then the logical thing would be to give aid to Assad. Does anyone support this?

It would be preferred if we didn't have to take sides but we have made our bed between 1941 and 1991 and now we have to sleep in it. That being said, our foreign aid probably causes more problems than it solves.

I really haven't seen anyone convinced that all rebels are terrorists, or that the Assad regime hasn't been violently cracking down on its people.

While I wholeheartedly agree that the U.S. should stop all military aid, it's important to realize that foreign military aid isn't about giving money to rich dictators - it's about giving money to rich defense contractors, using foreign governments as an intermediary.
