Welcome to Season IX.  This season will take us into the beginning of the CAD program which will start Monday, August 5, 2013 at 0740 CDT.  CAD and Kenya will likely be dominant themes throughout this season, thus the title.

You're really going through with this stupid CAD idea when there's no way in hell you will be using CAD working at Wal-Mart and living Kenya?

I'm going through it because 1) when I get my certificate, I will change jobs from the part time I hope to get soon to a full time CAD job in Oklahoma City and 2) It will give me a second set of skills along with my E-Commerce to use in Kenya while trying to support myself there.  This is thinking about the future, whether that's in America, in Kenya, or both.

It was a place that was close to Oklahoma City to be near parents and grandparents, but far enough where I could be on my own.

My dog has skill! We had to go on a hunt for her water dish and couldn't find it anywhere around the porch or in the yard. Dad finally spotted it - UNDER the porch! The opening to the porch is not very wide or very big, and she dragged a big plastic water dish underneath there! Dad had to fish it out! That is impressive.

I'm about 2 hours away from my meeting with Jayhawker, that's if he is able to get finished with his job site in time.  He told me they got a late start this morning due to the thunderstorms that rolled through.  He said they normally let out by 1500, but today will be later.  I don't know how late of a start they got.  I told him that I'm open tomorrow night, if it would be better.  There's no church tomorrow night, obviously, but we would still be able to meet up.

Good Thursday Morning! I kind of slept in this morning, but no problem. I'm about to get my shower and get ready for a Thursday. I need to leave here at 1100 for my school orientation. It starts at Noon, but I want to be there by 1130 so I can get a good seat. If I can get around, I may even leave at 1045. Today is the unofficial beginning of the Fall 2013 Semester. I've only got 11 days until I start my CAD program. Monday, August 5 is when I start and that's also when all of Oklahoma City Public Schools return to the classroom!

I'm home from a good orientation.   It wasn't anything to write home about,  but it was something that had to be done. Ready for school to start on Monday, August 5.

Are you worried about driving a half hour to school when it's winter time? 

No worries. He can just get a hotel and have a brief relaxation.

Except the closest hotel is still 3 miles away on I-35.  I learned to drive in winter weather somewhat in Utah last winter, so I should be fine.  If it gets too bad, Oklahoma City Public Schools will close down, or I can stay home if it is THAT bad.  It is a 23 mile drive one way, so it is a good distance away, but I'll either get there or I'll stay home.  No hotel should be needed.

Your program is with the local public schools?

No, but here in DaBurgh, most of the technical schools mirror what Pittsburgh Public does....if Pittsburgh Public Schools close, they tend to follow.....except at Pitt/CMU/Duquesne.

that's what Metro tech will do.  We follow the public school calendar and if they close for inclement weather, we will close as well most likely.

Its hard to say, really. You're comparing apples and oranges. I know foreclosure is not and was never an answer.  That looks bad on you for a decade.  The credit recovers after 7 years, but the reputation and stigma never recovers completely.  The short sale is not as bad and doesn't last as long.

1. If it's a short sale, there are no proceeds...
2. A short sale affects your credit in the exact same way a foreclosure does.

1.  What I mean by proceeds is the money we save from mortgage and utilities - approx $800 a month.
2.  Most short sales work that way, but my individual case has been assessed by certified experts and my impact won't be as severe and will only last 1-2 years.  The reason that most short sales are real damaging is from the late or missed payments that activated the short sale in the first place.  I have been on time on 100% of my mortgage payments, so my credit won't be hurt quite as bad.  The only thing it will prevent me from doing for 2 years is buying another home, but I can easily buy a car or rent an apartment should I need to, and both are very real possibilities in the next few months or years.
