This was a bill introduced by Nixy back when he still held a critically important office. I have thus decided to sponsor this leftover from the 1952 to continue burnishing my partisan anti-administration credentials. If you aren't laughing yet seek professional care. I recommend slot 4

I'll let the President make the case for this in detail.

Question, Mr. President, or Sen. Yankee:

How will communications be regulated without the FCC? As in, media ownership regulation?

I feel like some of the Independent Agencies should be under the jurisdiction of the SoEA rather then the SoIA. I would suggest switching the following agencies: NSA, CIA, Agency for International Development, Peace Corps and the Export-Import Bank of the United States.

The administration would like to preserve a portion of the spectrum for public broadcasting and sell the rest, taxing it as we would real property.

No, no, no. We need control to ban business controlling too much of a market and multiples media trying to broadcast on the same wavelenght.

Would that require some kind of legislative authorization?

Almost certainly. I could do it by executive order but.... some people may not appreciate that. Tongue

Then FCC shouldn't be dissolved, until that. I already stopped the first attempt in my first term (which lead to the bill than Napoleon linked). We still need something to control the spectrum and the ownership laws.

The amendments have been adopted. Does anyone have a text ready to go to acheive what Nixy wants on the spectrum and so forth?
