I never realized there was a gender gap when it came to supporting same sex marriage.

Gallup also reports that their interracial marriage poll, 4-87 when they began asking in the 1950s, has now officially inverted to 87-4.

I still don't understand who these 18% non-religious anti-gay marriage people are.

I still don't understand who these 18% non-religious anti-gay marriage people are.

People who are defintion purists, i.e. there can't be a gay marriage by defintion. Jesse Ventura falls in this group.

People who don't care one way or the other if civil unions exists. I fall into this group. But I would vote yes at this point with the bandwagon effect.

People who think that marriage should not exist as government entity. I can't point to someone who would vote no as a result. But I personally don't think government should recognize marriage. I could see someone voting no on principle.

And in any poll, you get people who are trying to **** with the poll for kicks. Unless they pushed the respondents hard on this, that's an issue.

Only 20% when SCOTUS made it the law of the land. SCOTUS is a bunch of moderate heroes when it comes to gay marriage.

The "ick" factor for straight men.

It's extremely sad that there are so many men out there who are just so grossed out by the thought of gay marriage/gay sex/etc. that they feel the need to tell people they wouldn't be allowed.  Not moral grounds, or traditionalist grounds.. just "EW GROSS!".  Like children, they are.

This is why we need to have a more open society when it comes to sex.  If these guys were getting laid they wouldn't be like this.

Maybe they are afraid that they themselves might be gay and sleep around to prove that they are not.

Typical liberal logic

Someone disagrees with me, therefore:

-They're horrible
-They're racist
-They're a cancer to the earth, blah blah blah

Having an open society has nothing to do with it, its all biological. If homosexuality were genetically beneficial, it would be something that the majority of the population would like and fine appealing....but its not. By darwinian terms, its a mutation. But we dont like to use words like that and in 2013, it doesnt really matter that much. The point is, you cant change peoples thoughts or ideas when they're rooted in hundreds of thousands of years of genetic streamlining.
