Yes, now that my counter has in fact reset to 0. Of course it's well known even the mods thought death points were a joke and didn't work, but it's also quite odd I've managed to go from a peak of 41 to 0 without changing my posting style much. I don't think anyone would argue that the change is for the better though.

I suspect the Mods have been on a learning curve, and over time, learn what works best for the community, and what does not. I certainly am on such a learning curve. FWIW, I very rarely give out death points. I think I have better tools to influence behavior, and as Grumps will tell you, I use them! 

And yes, I think the behavior around here has substantially improved. Overall, we have a very admirable group here. I really mean that, and thank you all. It's been a pleasure.

It's improved largely because we're in the down time between presidential election years.  It'll be awful again by late 2015, when the 2016 primary season is in full swing.

Though maybe we could get another poundingtherock-type character in the interim, to keep things interesting.

No one knows exactly (it's all intentionally shrouded in mystery), but essentially anything a moderator does not like he is allowed to delete and give death points for.
