I can see the argument that the neighbor was racist or had malicious intent, but surely the police were just doing their jobs?

My dad knew a homeless African American man named "Cowboy" for a long time, who did odd jobs for him time to time. Cowboy was homeless and squatting in a house in the ghetto of Pompano, and was injured when a police flashbang was shot into the house during a raid next store. Long story short, the man lived a life of luxury on the huge settlement he got, and my dad never saw him on the streets again...so I hope this man will get a nice retirement out of this.

2. It was at night, and the guy was using a flashlight, struggling to get into his door, so I can see why the neighbor called.

I'm serious. The president doesn't need to be involved with such things but based on the Cambridge Police incident and Trayvon Martin, I'd say he'll run his mouth again.
