McConnell is winning the primary because he is in essence a Tea Party candidate. Look at his voting record. He even supports a federal "right-to-work" law (which nobody except the Tea Party likes).

More cockfighting, this time more distant and linked to Grimes.

Team McConnell is really grasping at straws, aren't they.

Not uncommon. Tea Party challengers (or the everpresent threat of one) over the past few years have moved most Republicans lawmakers notably rightwards in their voting records. IMHO, there are substantially fewer RINOs in the GOP than TPIABNs (Tea Partiers In All But Name).

Admittedly, I don't think that acronym will catch on as it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue like "RINO" does. Tongue

McConnell's looking ahead to November. Money quote: "I'm proud of being the president's number 1 problem."

Going into today's primary, McConnell still leads by 14 in a new Gravis Marketing poll:

Very long but fantastic Hamby piece on how McConnell crushed the Tea Party.

Grimes opposes limiting abortion to the first 20 weeks of gestation.

Jesus. That McConnell ad is dumber than a rock. The type of campaign he's running deserves a wallop.

There is nothing in this world more hilarious than a McConnell campaign ad

Apparently Grimes got 100,000 more votes in her primary than McConnell did in his.

And McConnell is already on the offense. One of his super PACs has a $560K buy.

From the look of things Grimes is putting out better quality political advertising than McConnell.  While that's only one facet of a campaign, it's a pretty important one.

From a Fox News host reporting that climate change is real, to someone on centerforpolitics.org admitting that McConnell's race is actually competitive, this has been a week of breaking barriers.

Grimes calls on Shinseki to resign over VA scandal. What's notable is that McConnell hasn't done the same yet, meaning Grimes is getting in front of him on the issue.

McConnell claims that Kynect, Kentucky's successful healthcare exchange, is "unrelated" to the ACA and would not be affected by an ACA repeal.

Which is a flat out lie, one that the media and Grimes have been hammering him on.
