i think im one of the few.  sadly democrats have sold their soul on gun control (we can win virginia!!11).

i do recall a small outpouring of outrage on guns on the boards post-newtown, i think that has settled back down though.

We should obviously have better gun safety laws in this country. The minute you frame the debate as over "control," you've lost. People don't want to be controlled. They want to be safe.
It's crazy to me how bad the left is at messaging. The right has returned the nation to economic feudalism, but people still support them because they know how to sell their policies.

I don't trust a state that spies on literally everyone with a monopoly on force.

You are kidding, right? With the exception of a few Blue dog posters nearly all the Democratic posters support gun control. Many of them aggressively so.

Depends on what kind of gun control measures are on the table.  People make gun control too much of a black-and-white issue, even though it's really not.  It's kind of like abortion, in a way.

To what extent? There's a bit of a gap between supporting a total firearm ban and opposing universal background checks.

Exactly. I mean TNF opposes it and... that's all I can think of.

I support universal background checks and an assault weapons ban. Apart from that, it's kind of hard to get any further because of how ridiculously pro-gun Pennsylvania is.

but people still support them because they know how to sell their policies.

Or because they get their way in spite of most people hating them.

Ideally, gun ownership should be extremely difficult, if not outright illegal.  I support practically any efforts to restrict the ease with which one can obtain firearms.

I don't trust a state that spies on literally everyone with a monopoly on force.

Yes I agree with this.

And besides TNF and maybe Sawx, not sure there are many Democrats that are Anti-Gun Control

I dislike the Second Amendment and would support something along the lines of Germany's gun control laws, so yes.

The real question should be whether there are any Democrats on this forum who don't support gun control.  I haven't seen any yet, at least based on the reaction to the Newtown shooting.

Ya I support it, but it's surprising how many people on this forum don't. I did a poll on it a while ago.
