Acceptance Speech

*Hughento emerges from his weekend home in Astoria, Oregn, home of the Kindergarten Cop movie, and a beautiful little place*

G'day fellow Atlasians,

I come here tonight to the place where I made a specch many many weeks ago now.

As I return, I come with a majority nobody expected, in fact, as the winner that must people wouldn't have betted for. But I've come with a clear mandate, and with the senior senator from this district, and a multi-partisan approach to my role in the senate, I pledge that the mandate you gave me to implement my policies will be used. With the current split in the senate, it appears being an indeoendent might even make me the balance of power-what a scary concept-but there is a positive; I get heard, and my voice speaks for the people of District Five and all Atlasia.

I thank you for your support over a long and at times depressingly bad-looking campaign, and I say to you all that persistance pays off. To my opponent, the distinguished Secretary king, I say thank you for an enjoyable, topsy-turrvy campaign, a great challenger of policy who made me truly work hard for the best policies for Atlasia, and for your kinds words after the result became clear. I have no doubt we will find many issues to agree and disagree with on in the future, and it will be a pleasure to have the conversations the future promises us.
