It's come to my attention that a lot of people on this forum have a hard time distinguishing when I'm serious and when I'm sarcastic. My political ideas on the debate threads and responses to other ideas are a true reflection of how I feel on the issues. I'll be the first to admit that sometimes I get caught up in partisanship especially when others are partisan too. Is my tendency to react partisanly getting the best of me? I believe my positions on the issues are quite moderate.

Sarcasm is really hard to pull off in written form, especially online. As long as people have cogent reasons for having the political beliefs that they do, I can respect that even if I don't necessarily agree with them.

This would be a very boring place if it were just a bunch of left and center-left people agreeing with each other on everything.

All people who start "Opinion of Me" threads are automatically HP...

Seriously though, I have mixed feelings. You write some funny stuff, but on the other hand you post threads that list 20 positions with no arguments/reasoning for them. It tends to produce convoluted threads. Plus your religious moderate heroism is.... lukewarm

This user is currently NOT on ignore.  I like you, barfbag.  You're funny, harmless, conservative, and seem to be an overall good kid.  I hope you stick around!

Good, It's nice having you, although being blatantly partisan (on some things) is sometimes annoying (like Lief, for example) its always nice having an outside thinker.

Are you saying I'm too moderate or my moderation doesn't always seem real?

Eh... I get the vibe you either don't have much interest in religious issues or are still working out your positions.

My degree is in religion so it's very frustrating to discuss a lot of the issues on here because it already takes up a lot of my free time. I've written 56 page papers on J, E, P, and D. In the years since graduating from college, I've spent a lot of time studying the characterization of Jews in the New Testament and how it reflects what happens in the later part of the first century rather than the early-mid part. I also have a degree in philosophy which is a little more tolerable to discuss for me because everyone seems to think deep on this forum. What are your views on religion?

Calvinist.

I guess people think it's productive and okay to pile onto you with shallow empty quotes...?  I happen to like you. I'm tired of people who think they're "better" than others just because they've got something different to say.

From what I've seen, the general consensus is that you're sort of a modern day analogue to Jesus of Nazareth, though I may be mistake. The pharisees you see above "ignoring" you are good evidence of that.

How can people have Barfbag on ignore?

He's so funny! In a good way, of course.
