Ah. An unfortunate choice of phrasing on my part, I admit. I think it's a gift you manage to acquire for yourself more than enough without much seeming difficulty.

DC Al Fine's idea of freedom is probably life in a small, more or less self-sustaining Calvinist community with an in many respects egalitarian ethos but very conservative, patriarchal family structures.

Armed left-libertarian commune without corporations, but with copious amounts of mind-altering substances (esp. booze) and the death penalty reserved only for snobs and the pretentious.

A Rooseveltian sort of freedom safeguarded by organized labor. Probably closer to an actual historically articulated political idea of freedom than most posters', but not one that's currently in the ascendant (more's the pity).

High Church, low buildings. Western Massachusetts has reached a new golden age. The countryside is dotted with one-story farms, owned by independent farmers. Having rushed the banks back in the days of Shays' Rebellion, the farmers there crafted a simpler life for themselves. Dedicated to Mother Church (the Church of England, these Puritans having reformed themselves from their damn'ed low church ways), they live their lives in service to God and to the land. There are no cities around for miles and miles, only a peaceful, isolated, tolerant, and heaven minded people, causing trouble for no one and helping out their neighbors. In this, Nathan lives, enjoying the blessings of freedom heaped on him from posterity.

Fidel Caceres proudly puffed his cigar as the American planes flew overhead. He knew this state of affairs wouldn't last. The West had always been too weak, too incompetent, to truly challenge him. The blockade was no different. One way or another, America was powerless to stop the flow of defensive materials from behind the Iron Curtain to the People's Cogendist Republic of Cuba. In 1959, in bloody revolution, The People of Cuba had risen up, overthrown the capitalist-Christian-chauvinist-gringo pigs and had taken control of their own destiny, putting their faith in Cogendism. Not necessarily the Soviet model of Cogendism, but a type that was truer to form of what the great Gabe "The Babe" Snowstalker had written of so many years back from his hovel in Spain. Sure, there had been complaints of human rights violations, but did any of that matter? No, they were mere distractions from the true issues at hand: the revolution of the people and the oppression of the West. Despite coming from a largely wealthy family himself, Caceres had been so kind as to lend his hand to allowing The People to overrun his family property--so long as he was able to tell these new occupiers how to live, of course. Now, as Caceres stood on the balcony of his palace-type-thing, looking down on all the Cogendist Cubans milling about and smirking at the Yankee-Gringo-Capitalist-Imperialist scum off his shore, he thought "This, this is freedom."

After taking a short nap, a smiling Hockeydude awakens to find his recently wed bride Kate Upton by his side. Fresh off of the protest of the grand opening of the new evangelical ultra-con megachurch down the block, he hops in his car and speeds off to an opening he is much more enthusiastic about, the Rangers first game of the year at Madison Square Garden.

No no no.  I fully support freedom of religion and Kate Upton has a - well, she has a weird shape to her.  Apparently has the mental capacities of a gerbil, as well.  Can I haz Mellisa Clarke instead?  She's perfect Purple heart
