Shouldn't it say Age limits mentioned "in" as opposed to "on", or am I missing something?

I fixed it Yank, I think you're right on that, but "on" i don't think changes its meaning that drastically.

Should we wait for the GM to inaugurate to do a cost analysis? This looks okay minus that little extra bit of information.

Joyce just got confirmed. I hate to overload him, but we have waited here quite awhile. I am going to PM him later and see if I can get a time frame, or order of priority on these since we have three or four needing his immediate attention.

It's more up to Napoleon and whether he thinks it's necessary, but I would prefer if we got one.

Average hospice payment of $887.78 out of pocket. Cost of hospice care per patient is $13,242.35 (NIH) Government will thus cover an average of $12354.57 per patient, given median pension size. With an estimated hospice population per year of around 1.65M (NHPCO), you run into about $20.4 billion in new spending.

Oh wow. Should we tinker with this a bit to cut costs?

Or amend it to raise funds for the program?

Or amend it to raise funds for the program?

Or attempt to disincentivize using a traditional hospital and promote hospice care, which could generate significant cost savings, probably enough to cover the program.

What underlies the savings attained? Is it the cost of materials and supplies is lower or is it because potentially life saving treatment is being denied to these people?

Focus on palliative care rather than treating the illness itself - I wouldn't call it potentially life-saving treatment because by the time hospice could be an option the person generally has about a month max to live regardless of where they go.

20 billion dollars doesn't seem that much to me, considering what we're sorting out here.

Roughly what rate will the cost rise due to demographics?

I am interested in Bore's question as well. Would not the costs also rise as more people were transition into Hospice and would this eliminate the potential savings?

Certainly healthcare costs will rise due to demographics - UAB estimates that we need to roughly triple our number of geriatricians, but that's more linked into an overall rise due to those demographic factors than with hospice specifically.

In the absence of that though, would cost savings still be attained from your recommended change and how substantial would they be?

In the absence of the new professionals and resources, would the cost savings still be attained? What is the cost of effecting that increase in relation to the savings anticipated?

Basically, do these savings actually occur once sought or is this an elusive prospect?

I have contacted Joyce directly. I am setting timetable for this weekend's end to have a funding mechanism attached to this.
