Rombamacare, for one, with its individual mandate to purchase insurance from those evil, evil bloodsucking insurance companies

No but really: the big difference between the American left and the left in pretty much the rest of the world is that the American left doesn't nationalize industries. The only industry off the top of my head that is nationalized is Amtrak(I guess you could say GM).

It's not for want of trying.  Truman tried to nationalize the steel industry during the 1952 strike, but was slapped down by the courts.
