It could've been avoided along with the classified debt had we gone along with the Republicans and simply done nothing at all.
As a Republican I disagree. Before the Great Recession we reached a point where over half of all personal bankruptcies were due to health care costs. That's not a sustainable model for a successful economy. The ACA is not the answer, but the US was stuck with an unwieldy hodgepodge that was also not the answer.
I agree. Pre-existing conditions shouldn't be deniable and people should be able to remain on their parents' insurance until age 23. Insurance companies should also be allowed to compete across state lines. Tort reform could be useful if done carefully and strategically, but not generalized as Bush proposed. My response was to a radical idea so it may have come across as partisan.
