In the vein of some other polls regarding sympathies in the Syrian Civil War.

Yes I do. I'm interested in hearing the spin from Democrats about how we should suddenly stay out of foreign affairs after supporting Obama's intervention strikes. Maybe Democrats will talk about how Christians have done bad things too. Or will they give us the "Who are we to judge" line?

A. stay out of foreign affairs after supporting Obama's airstrikes
B. say Christians have done bad things too
C. Who are we to judge?
D. all of the above

We should turn this into a contest and the winner gets a prize. Since this is about religion, then maybe the winners should receive a free Bible. Oh wait, we have to have separation of church and state so no Bibles. Let's make the prize a Quran.

How about we make the prize a 4-pack of color crayons like kids get to color their place mats at Perkins and other such family dining establishments.

Sigh.  I miss the Dinner Doodles.  They were so much fun to pick apart.  (A reference to something well before your time on the Forum, barfbag.)

This, including those murdered by religious extremists--whether Muslim extremists, Christian extremists, or anyone else.

I'm sympathetic to the victims of monstrous war criminals on both sides, yes.

Obviously, I do sympatize with all innocent victims. By the way, it's dissapointing to see our in-house rebel supporters to pretty much ignore the fate of the minorities, such as Christians though to blame all rebel forces for these atrocities (and using such broadly implying terms as "Muslim savages") wouldn't be fair.

You should probably sympathize with the living, not the dead.  But I get what you mean.

Honestly the best we could do is offer asylum to any Syrian Christians who want to flee... offer them safe harbor until things settle down.  Any more involvement from the U.S. is probably about as effective as shoving your bare hand into a fire ant mound.

I'd support offering asylum to those in danger. We could set up tents in the great plains and provide internet access so that they could apply for jobs here. Maybe they'd stay?

If there are any Christian extremists in the Middle East, I'd love to hear more. It's kind of hard for a group that only makes up less than 5% of the population to have the means to commit acts of violence against the majority. Same goes for the Druze, the Armenians and other minority groups.

The only example of Christian-on-Muslim violence that has happened there since the Crusades was during the Lebanese Civil War in the early 1980s when the Phalangists massacred large numbers of Palestinian Muslims and Lebanese Shi'ite Muslims (in many cases with the tacit help of Israel). But even that can't really be blamed on religious extremism since the Phalangists were a secular Fascist movement that viewed Lebanese Christians as ethnically distinct from the Muslims and were acting out of a perceived need to preserve their ethnicity/culture, rather than doing "the Lord's work."

Yes, I do sympathize with the Syrian Christians, but that doesn't mean we should help them.

Of course; I sympathize with those who are getting murdered on both sides of the civil war. Christian, Sunni, Alawite, Druze, etc. I just think that it's the regime's fault that this even turned into a civil war (remember, he was slaughtering peaceful protestors in the beginning), and that the regime must go.

Preferably, the religions in Syria could come to a peace accord after Assad is ousted (or if he's assassinated), but all I hope for at this point is an end to massacres on either side.

Yes. Christians should stop whining about persecution in this country, and pay attention to where they are actually persecuted.

Your speculations about the overall mindset of Democrats are tendentious. That is the sort of thing that gets the opposition to report some of your posts (like this one, on the grounds of trolling), and some Mods tend to infract, because it is part of a continual pattern. No action by me, but this is why you rack up the infraction points because some Mods are less patient. Just a heads up.
